Message 1. Insults have nothing to do with arguments. Read about Einstein, Edison, Ben Franklin, etc. etc. I'm negative nancy, don't act like you haven't been around the past 10+ years.

2. This site doesn't factor in the carried mass, only the changed mass per the wheel itself. So you're not considering the 3500lbs it's also having to move, and that goes into a different equation altogether that I don't know, which determines how much of a difference the wheel mass makes in moving the vehicle. You also have to factor in stopping power, which is a similar topic and equally important/relevant.

3. The mazda site had more relevance than your initial link, which shows nothing about wheel performance when you're using wheels with almost identical specs. the OP is referring to wheels that weigh quite close to 30lbs! You can't tell me its not obvious to you that it's going to pose an immense hindrance on performance. I'm not quibbling over the difference in chroming vs polishing, I'm responding to the OP's response to me that he'd add concrete to his wheels and it wouldn't make a difference. It really, very truly would.

4. I can't understand how you deduced that adding 6-8lbs per wheel is the equivalent of throwing a backpack in your z. You need to try harder to understand the unsprung weight concept. I'm sorry, I really can't help you further until you figure that out.

5. I never commented about the wheels being the same in price; I'm commenting on the relevant topic, which is wheel weight. Those wheels weigh from 17-20lbs. That's light! Once you get to 21+lbs you're getting into heavy territory. It affects how the entire car handles. If you don't believe me, find someone who's figured it out and drive their z and you'll see what I mean about being tacked to the road.

Cheers,
